By Supporting the Frontlines of Change, TOGETHER We Can End Hunger!
It takes a community to end hunger, and we are working towards a world where everyone having enough to eat is not only a cause, but a commitment to justice and equality.
Our 2025 Budget Priorities
As food insecurity continues to surge across New York State, with frontline providers reporting a staggering 70% increase in service since 2019, The Alliance is taking bold action. At our annual meeting, members united behind a clear mission: securing $75 million for Hunger Prevention Nutrition Assistance Program (HPNAP) and $75 million for Nourish New York.
These programs are lifelines to nearly 3 million New Yorkers currently struggling to afford food. HPNAP ensures our network can continue to provide nutritious, culturally appropriate foods to their communities, while Nourish New York creates a vital bridge between New York farmers and hungry families. Together, they form the backbone of our state's emergency food system.
Meet Our Newest Members!
We’re proud to welcome two anti-hunger champions to The Alliance for a Hunger Free New York; Family Services Association of Glens Falls and Cooperstown Food Pantry.
Family Services Association of Glens Falls brings vital support to Saratoga, Warren, and Washington Counties, serving over 1,500 households in 2023. Their comprehensive approach combines food assistance with compassionate guidance, helping neighbors move beyond immediate challenges toward lasting stability.
Cooperstown Food Pantry had an impressive distribution of 240,000 pounds of food last year. They serve as a lifeline for nearly 2,500 Otsego County residents. Their multi-faceted program integrates food pantry services, food rescue efforts, and innovative food-as-medicine initiatives to address hunger comprehensively.
