Tracie Killar is the Founder and Executive Director of the South End Children's Cafe. Tracie is a graduate of Albany High School ‘81 and the College of Saint Rose ‘86. Tracie is dedicated to impacting food security, equality and justice along with academic achievement and overall wellness of children residing in and around the South End of Albany, New York.
Tracie values begin a member of the team consisting of staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers who have cooked and served over 275,000 healthy meals and food to children and their families. She is grateful for the families who share their children with the South End Children's Cafe and the children who bring joy, laughter, energy and love to the program each day. Tracie was the recipient of the 2021 Woman of Distinction honor by Senator Neil Breslin, Women United Perfect Pitch Award, Vaughan Family Changemaker Award by the Albany Fund for Education, SEFCU Why I Care Award, Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year Award, PBS Extraordinary Neighbor, the Rotary People of Action Award Winner and was a 2016 Jefferson Award Medalist.
